We present our magnificent white gold rosette with diamonds and ruby, a stunning, luxurious and sophisticated piece with an impressive central ruby of 6.30 cts that captivates by its size and color. Surrounded by two rows of brilliant-cut diamonds, the oval-cut ruby draws the eye to the center of the jewel and tells us, through its inclusions, of the fascinating and mysterious history of its formation. <\/span><\/p>\n

Formed in processes lasting millions of years under the earth’s crust, the ruby owes its name to its color and comes from the Latin<\/span> rub\u0115us<\/span><\/i> which means red and owes its color to the presence of chromium. Along with the diamond, the sapphire and the emerald, it has been a highly valued gem since ancient times and is considered one of the four precious stones par excellence. The shades of ruby range from deep red to dark red, and you can find gems with pink, orange or purple hues. Rare, especially in gem quality specimens of a certain size, ruby has a variable transparency and a crystalline luster. The most expensive and appreciated rubies are those from Myanmar or Burma followed by those from Thailand and the one known as “Sangre de Paloma” or “Sangre de pigeon” is one of the most valued for its intense red color. Natural ruby has inclusions and its color and the appearance of the inclusions can be improved by heat treatment. <\/span><\/p>\n
