Introducing our magnificent gold, diamond, and ruby brooch, a classic and elegant piece from the 1950s/60s. Inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels, the brooch features 144 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 5.75 carats and an oval-cut ruby of 0.80 carats.
The naturalistic motifs of bouquets of flowers or birds are characteristic of the 1940s and 1950s, and this piece, although probably later, has elements of the period, including the use of yellow gold characteristic of the years after World War II. The flower-shaped design with petals covered in gems is reminiscent of Van Cleef & Arpels pieces, although the setting technique is different, and also of a four-leaf clover, although the coloring leads us to the floral realm.
The ruby, one of the most prized gems throughout history, together with the diamond, the emerald and the sapphire, forms the royalty of precious stones. The combination of diamonds and rubies on yellow gold creates a warm effect that, together with the rounded lines of the design, gives the piece a soft feel.
