Masriera 18K yellow gold bracelet with diamonds and pliqué-a-jour

Introducing our wonderful modernist bracelet by Masriera, a limited edition numbered piece made of 18kt gold with diamonds and pliqué-a-jour enamel. Of current manufacture, this piece is made according to the original drawings of Lluis Masriera, the most famous of the Masriera lineage and is a modernist piece with its characteristic curved shapes and floral designs.

Art Noveau, known as modernism in Spain, was an artistic style that took place between 1890 and 1910, which received various names throughout Europe and can best be described as decorative. It was characterized by a desire to unify all the arts in the same innovative, free and modern aesthetic with figurative themes, curved, sinuous and asymmetrical shapes and that values design over materials.

Lluis Masriera i Rosés was the most famous of the Masriera family and the grandson of the first jeweler Masriera who founded the Masriera House in 1839. He was born in Barcelona in 1872 and following the family tradition, he was a painter and silversmith. He learned the technique of enameling first from his grandfather and then in France where he studied the Limoges enamel technique. Influenced by Lalique his work is mainly known as modernist but his production spread over the years also includes noucentist and Art Deco pieces. In 1915 Masriera merged with another of the oldest families of jewelers and silversmiths in Catalonia: Carreras, born in 1766. The company Masriera Hermanos and Joaquin Carreras was very prestigious and recognized throughout Europe and was part of several exhibitions. Later, the Bagués firm born in 1917 bought the firm with molds and drawings that are still produced to this day.

Our magnificent bracelet has 84 diamonds for a total of 1.70 cts, weighs 42 grams, has a safety clasp and double opening spring and comes with original box and certificate of authenticity.
