Vasari ring in 18K gold with rutilated quartz, blue sapphires and tsavorite garnets

We present our Vasari ring in 18kt yellow gold, a spectacular, striking and groundbreaking piece that stands out for the variety, quality and color of the gems and the way of combining and working with them. Mounted on violet jade as a doublet, the rutilated quartz takes on a purple hue that contrasts with the surrounding sapphires, emerald and tsavorite garnets.

Vasari was a Catalan firm that between 1984 and 2014 occupied a prominent place and set a trend for its innovative designs and for the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. Within its different lines, organic and large-scale designs, large gems, animal and flower designs and quality gemstones stand out.

About the gems in this piece we can say that they create a wonderful combination. Blue sapphires (2.18 cts), emeralds (2.04 cts) and tsavorite garnets (2.18 cts) in brilliant cut and set on white gold accompany the central doublet on a wavy surface creating a very organic effect that is highlighted by the texture worked on the arm of the ring. Rutilated quartz is in itself a special mineral. Inclusions of rutile stand out within the rock crystal as golden or coppery needles or filaments that sometimes resemble hair, which is why it is sometimes known as “Venus hair”. Set on violet jade, a not very well known variety of a mineral that we associate almost exclusively with the color green, the pyramid-shaped stoned quartz acquires a soft purple tone that gives the whole an almost magical quality.

The size of the ring is 13/53, it is solid and weighs 51 grams.
