14K rose gold ring with oval cut citrine
We present our 14kt rose gold ring with 6 cts oval citrine, a simple bohemian style piece with engraved motifs and ornamented arm.
Although it is difficult to determine the exact period or provenance of this ring, we can say that its manufacture is after the 1950s and, from the decorative motifs on the arm, that it probably came from the East. The palmette, a decorative motif that stylizes and synthesizes the palm leaf, was commonly used in ancient Greece and Rome, but spread beyond their borders. Combined with a crescent moon, the oriental influence is noticeable and makes us think that the ring could come from Syria, Turkey or Iran.
As for the gemstone, citrine quartz is one of the most prized varieties of quartz along with amethyst and smoky or fumé quartz for its beautiful and vibrant color that ranges from vibrant yellow to champagne and can be more or less warm and intense. Sometimes, citrine quartz can have an intermediate shade between the classic yellow of citrine and the gray of fumé, which in the case of this ring, combines perfectly with the aged tone of the rose gold that surrounds it.
