Belle Epoque ring in 18K gold, platinum and diamonds

We present our Belle Époque ring in 18 carat gold, a delicate and stylized piece that immerses us in the unique magic of this period characterized by diamonds and jewels in white tones. With 3 old-cut diamonds and 8 eight-cut diamonds set on platinum settings, this shuttle ring is a diaphanous, romantic and elegant piece of jewelry that sits perfectly on the hand.

As is often the case, between one period and another there are transitions and this ring is a good example of that. The geometric elements typical of the Art Deco period present in the design indicate in this case that it would be a late piece from the Belle Epoque period.

The Belle Epoque, which spanned the late 19th century to the beginning of the First World War in 1914, was a historical period contemporary with Art Nouveau and Noucentisme and had a more conventional style characterised by the use of expensive materials, especially platinum, which was rarer and for many years more valued than gold. The designs of the period had their roots in the jewellery of Louis XVI’s court at Versailles, which was a source of inspiration for clients who wanted aristocratic-style jewellery. The jewelry of this period is almost entirely “white”, a product of the priority use of platinum, which when it was not the material of the whole piece was used in the views, and the almost exclusive presence of diamonds and pearls with little use of colored gems. Curved shapes and symmetrical floral designs are typical of the ethereal and delicate Belle Époque jewelry whose favorite motifs are bows, circles and garlands with lace-like openwork decoration.

The center diamond is 0.30 carats and the other diamonds total 0.21 carats.
